About Associated Psychiatrists of Nashville

Taking care of our mental health is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves. Our emotional state affects our physical health, our relationships and our careers. We can help remove the roadblocks which prevent one from achieving mental wellness. Navigating the path to this state of well-being requires time and effort on the part of the patient and a skilled and dedicated psychiatrist to facilitate the journey.

Associated Psychiatrists of Nashville (APON), formed in 1989, was established with the belief that the appropriate use of psychotherapy and somatic treatments are the foundation of success in this pursuit. Psychotherapy allows patients and physicians to explore the path to mental wellness together and leads to insights which guide the course of treatment. APON consists of 4 trained psychiatrists but our training in internal medicine, pediatrics and surgery allows us to thoroughly understand the mind/body connection as well. We explore all areas of treatment, including the proper use of medications to achieve the goals set by patient and psychiatrist.

Just as time and attention must be given to achieving mental wellness, care must also be given to maintaining that state of health. We believe part of the process of achieving continued recovery is having access to appropriate guidance and support. We feel privileged that we are here to provide that care as well.

Of note, each psychiatrist in APON owns and operates a distinct private practice as its own legal entity. Specifically, patients are not clients of APON itself and instead are clients of their individual psychiatrist. As a result, you can expect personalized care with your doctor, rather than being seen by a group of physicians that may change If you would like to learn more about who we are as individuals, please visit our personal profile pages.
